Is the rocking safe for a newborn?
Yes. The rocking amplitude is gentle and controlled - the cot moves smoothly without sudden jolts. It mimics the natural soothing motion of being rocked in arms. When the child starts sitting and standing, the rocking function can be locked with fixers included in the set.
How long will this cot really last?
From birth to 6+ years thanks to five transformations. A rocking cradle for a newborn, a cot with a lowered mattress for a baby learning to stand, a bed with a removable side for an independent child, a bedside cot attached to the parents' bed, and with the I-Grow Kit extension - a 150 cm sofa for a child up to 6+ years.
What is the I-Grow Kit and is it included?
The I-Grow Kit is an extension set that turns the cot into a 150 cm sofa. It is ordered separately when the child outgrows the standard size. This is a deliberate choice: you buy the extension only when it is actually needed rather than overpaying for it from birth.
Is it comfortable for night feeds?
Yes. The mattress height adjusts to several levels. At the top level you do not need to lean deep to reach the baby for feeding. The cot can also be used as a bedside cot attached to the parents' bed - one side is removed and the child sleeps next to you on their own surface.
Will the rocking get in the way when the child grows?
No. The rocking function locks with fixers at any time. When the child starts actively moving, rolling over and standing, you simply fix the cot in a stationary position. From then on it works as a regular stationary bed.
Can the cot hold a parent lying next to the child?
The solid beech frame is designed for significant loads. Sitting on the edge of the cot for a bedtime story or soothing is perfectly safe. For full co-sleeping we recommend using the bedside cot mode attached to the parents' bed.
How long does assembly take?
60-90 minutes. The instructions are step by step and the main connections are intuitive. A Phillips screwdriver or power drill is required. Switching between transformations (for example removing a side or changing mattress height) takes 5-10 minutes.
What mattress fits this cot?
The standard mattress size for the cot is 120 x 60 cm. We recommend a mattress 8-10 cm thick with children's certification. For the sofa with the I-Grow Kit a 150 x 60 cm mattress is needed. Important: never use a mattress that does not fit snugly against the cot walls.
