Frequently Asked Questions

Which cot does this canopy fit?

This size is made for the Creative Cot Long. The standard Creative Cot is 30 cm shorter and takes its own canopy, so the two are not interchangeable. It does not fit baby beds from other brands - the frame clips into the Creative Cot's own rails.

What does it actually do?

Three things. It softens the glare of a ceiling lamp or a bright window for a baby lying on their back, it keeps the draught from an air conditioner off the bed, and through summer it works as a mosquito net. Parents with pets also use it as a dust and hair cover.

Does it work in all the Creative Cot Long configurations?

Yes. It stays on when the cot is a baby bed, when it opens out into a playpen, and when it becomes a kids bench. In playpen and bench mode the cover reads less like a net and more like a den, which is usually the point at which children start playing under it on purpose.

How long does assembly take?

A few minutes by hand, no tools. The frame comes as two long rails, four short ones, two connectors and two end parts; they push together and the cover slips over the top. Taking it off for washing is just as quick.

Can I wash it?

The cover goes in the machine at 40°C - that is the part that collects dust. The wooden frame is wiped with a damp cloth and dried; do not soak it and do not machine-wash it.

Can I hang a mobile from it, and will it clash with a baby monitor?

The ridge rail takes a light mobile. Keep whatever you hang light and out of the baby's reach - it is a slim wooden rail, not a load-bearing bar. One thing worth checking before you order: a camera monitor mounted high above the cot may sit where the canopy peak goes, so measure the height you have above the bed.
