Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe for a child to sleep on the upper tier?
Yes. We deliberately made I Bunk Bed lower than standard bunk beds. High rails around the entire perimeter of the upper tier prevent falling during sleep. The solid beech frame does not loosen over time. Each sleeping space holds 120 kg - a strength reserve designed for an active childhood.
From what age can a child sleep on the upper tier?
We recommend from age 6 for the upper tier. The lower tier suits any age. If you have one child, the upper tier becomes a play loft while the lower one is the sleeping space. When a second child arrives or a guest visits, the second bed is already ready.
Why is the bed lower than standard bunk beds?
This is a deliberate decision for three reasons. It is safer for a child to climb up and down. It is easier for parents to make the bed and tuck the child in at night - no stepladder needed for a goodnight kiss. Visually the bed does not press down on the room or create a sense of clutter.
Is it easy to climb to the upper tier?
Yes. Two ladders on both sides - the child climbs from whichever side is more convenient depending on where the bed is placed in the room. The steps are wide with a non-slip surface. This is not a narrow add-on ladder but an integrated part of the structure.
Will the bed look childish in a few years?
No. Clean lines, natural wood, no cartoon elements. I Bunk Bed looks like designer furniture, not a children's attraction. The mattress is 200 x 90 cm - a full teenage size. A child will not outgrow this bed before finishing school.
Can the lower tier be used on its own without the upper one?
Yes. The lower tier I Teen Bed works as a standalone bed. The upper structure is added when a second sleeping space is needed. This gives flexibility: start with one bed, add the upper tier later without replacing furniture.
How long does assembly take?
90-120 minutes with two people. We recommend assembling with a helper due to the size of the structure. The instructions are step by step and the main fixings are intuitive. A Phillips screwdriver or power drill is required. The structure disassembles for moving.
What mattress fits I Bunk Bed?
The standard size is 200 x 90 cm for both tiers. The recommended mattress thickness for the upper tier is no more than 15 cm so the safety rail remains at an effective height. There are no thickness limits for the lower tier.
